🎓 Educational Qualification & Experience
Essential Qualification — any one of the following routes
- At least Second Class M.Sc. in Forensic Science, with specialization, dissertation work, coursework or project work in the field of Chemical Sciences.
- OR at least Second Class M.Sc. in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Pharmacy, M.S. (Pharm.) or M.Pharm. from a recognized university.
Mandatory experience
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience, acquired after obtaining the qualifying degree.
- Experience must be in Research, Training and Analytical Work within the specified subjects.
- The experience certificate must be formally issued and signed by the Research Supervisor or Head of the Organization/Department.
- Research work undertaken specifically for completion of a Ph.D. degree can be counted towards the required 3 years, as stated in the advertisement.
Desirable Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in one of the specified subjects.
- Knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, and suitability for working in the conditions prevailing in the state.

Selection conditions to note
- If the ratio of eligible candidates to advertised posts is six or below, eligible candidates may be called directly for the Personality Test.
- In other cases, the written test stages and subsequent Personality Test will be conducted as per the Commission's scheme.
- Minimum SAT qualifying marks to proceed to Personality Test: 45% for General category and 40% for reserved categories, as stated in the advertisement.
- In the objective screening test, one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for a wrong answer. Multiple answers are treated as wrong.
- If a candidate does not want to answer an objective question, option E must be selected. Leaving the question blank also attracts the stated penalty.
